*Honorable mentions include Elvis’ Christmas Album (1970) by Elvis Presley and “The Christmas Song” (1967) by Nat King Cole, both high sellers and influential albums in their time, although sales records cannot be accurately estimated against more recently released albums.
Showing initiative and being honest is what they really want to see. Inflating what you can realistically offer a venue might land you a show in the short term, but it will only result in empty venues and people being upset with your band. You’re going to need allies at venues both in your local scene and around the country if you hope to make touring a lasting part of your band’s lifespan. Honesty and realness are king.
Mastering requires additional time and work, and so it will cost more and take longer until you have the completed song or album ready to release. If you are simply producing a nice song to celebrate your great aunt’s 75th birthday party, do you really need to have it mastered? Probably not. If you are putting together a demo of songs to send to a venue as part of their requirement to book you for a show and they need it this Friday, should you take the time to get those songs mastered? Not necessary. In these situations, adding a compressor, limiter, or maximizer plugin to the master output channel of your mix to boost the overall volume level is likely sufficient for your needs.

The Major Scale (also known as the Ionian Mode) is really common and often used as the scale all others are defined against. It’s the “Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do” of solfege fame. On the piano, the major scale is represented by playing all the white keys between C and C, as shown below. Go ahead and play it; you’ll immediately recognize it.
The use of new technology in classrooms is a hot topic. Particularly in the field of music, tech can fundamentally reshape the whole nature of education: what it means and who it’s for. As such, controversy swirls around the use of technology in the context of music education. This discussion explores what technology brings to the classroom and what it has taken away, as well as how it has transformed student musicians from performers to composers. But it’s also quite long, so feel free to skip ahead and read on if you’d like to read our “talking points.”

Hopefully Tredici Bacci’s listeners understand the inherent joke underlying a song about the ’70s written by someone who was born in 1991. Of course, I can’t seriously mourn an era that I mostly learned about from watching erotic films and talking to my parents’ friends. That said, most things that I love (in music, art, fashion and the aforementioned erotica) were made in the ’70s, and I wonder if I would have thrived had I been born back then. “In The 1970s” is more of a loving ode to what I admire about that decade, and as a compositional experiment, an attempt to write something that used my favorite “’70s-sounding” signifiers.
Music should be something you’re desperately passionate about if you want it to be your career, but if you don’t convert that passion into real work and goal-oriented planning, chances are nothing is going to happen for you. So set aside hours to get things done, make a list of goals, and start putting in the work whether it feels fun and rewarding or boring and forced.

You can also track the total streams and listeners of all of your tracks, combined (but note that this “all-time” graph can only go as far back as 2015).
An annotated score of Berg’s Lyric Suite was discovered, which he secretly dedicated to Hanna Fuchs-Robettin, with whom he was in love. Without delving too deep, the secret meaning of the Lyric Suite also made its way into Lulu, where Berg’s special use of the two notes, H (musical German for B) and F — for “Hanna Fuchs” — made yet another example of Berg’s unique predilection for coding emotion in musical geometry.
